This Mooring Safety Training - DNV Certified course is aimed at Deck officers, ratings and other crew onboard.

What standards are referred to in this course?
• SOLAS regulation II-1/3-8 on Towing and Mooring Equipment
• International Maritime Organization (IMO)
• The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW)
Is there an assessment?
Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.
Learning Objectives
• Identify the importance of mooring safety and planning
• Explain how to prepare the manoeuvring station for a mooring operation
• Describe the structure of mooring teams and their roles
• Describe the steps involved in the mooring operation
• Identify mooring hazards and how to mitigate them
Assessment
End of course assessment with a 70% pass mark.
